Rallies and Protests is an experimental category focused on near-term events and creating a historical record.

Whether we're speaking about the Black Lives Matter protests of 2020, the Great March of Return in Gaza 2018-2019 to end decades of extreme occupation, the Yellow Vest protest in France, Umbrella protests in Hong Kong, or even the surprising anti-vaccine mandate trucker occupation of Canada's capital city in 2022, this category is meant to be a record of public expressions of civil disobedience. It is also where political candidates in any country can post their public events designed to attract 400 or more people.

This category includes political conventions (e.g., Republican and Democratic National Conventions) and other prominent political rallies designed to bring out the base and create support around a political ideology or protest against policies and injustices
